"Make a website', they said, "It' will be fun", they said. Less than a month after launching my website, it crashed. Nobody could tell me why or how it died, it just did. What they could tell me is that for a modest fee, it would be back in seven days.
I despise blackmail. I think it's the lowest, dirtiest form of negotiation. I would never use it personally, unless it was an emergency. So, I paid. I was told the website migration would start immediately but could take up to seven days to complete.
I called Squarespace every day for six days. I sent sixteen emails. I tried to log onto the live help chat every day, multiple times a day. In the end, Squarespace waited exactly seven days to push the button, and now my website is back.
Then Squarespace sent me a survey asking, "How did we do?" Do you know how many times you can say I hate you in a text box with a maximum of 999 characters? The answer is 83.
